Michaela Morris
"With accents of moss, iron and leather, this has a similar savoury countenance as the Villero, but there is greater fruit depth and balance with the grainy, grippy structure. Dark plum is nuanced by tobacco and tar, with medicinal herbs lingering. Despite prime holdings in the villages of Barolo and Castiglione Falletto, Giacomo Fenocchio's home base is in Monforte d'Alba, and his flagship Bussia bottling is undoubtedly the estate's top drop in 2022."
James Suckling
"Really open and aromatic, very floral and absorbing, showing roses, red berries and lavender. The palate is medium- to full-bodied, with fine-grained, expansive tannins that complement the transparent, tender yet succulent fruit. Would benefit from some bottle age. Better in 2028."
Antonio Galloni
"The 2022 Barolo Bussia is the best of these 2022s from Claudio Fenocchio. It offers just enough textural richness and resonance to pull everything together. Dark fruit, leather, incense, spice and coffee fill out the layers nicely. There's solid persistence and balance here."
Wijnhuis Giacomo Fenocchio
