The wine aged for a quick 10 months in French oak (with one-third new wood), and this hot vintage saw 84,000 bottles made (which is a little lower than average). This vintages reveals a careful interpretation of the grape, without the excess heaviness or those characteristic black olive aromas that sometimes come with the varietal. Instead, this pretty wine embraces brightness, medium texture and aromas of cherry, blackcurrant and toasted almond. This easygoing wine hits a great stride in terms of accessibility and drinkability."
