"In the bottle with the white wax capsule, the Michele Satta 2023 Syrah respects the classic contours of the grape but does not show the smoothness and velvety creaminess the variety can sometimes show. Instead, this wine is more rigid and edgy in personality, a character definitively linked to stem inclusion, showing dark fruit, good freshness and a slightly restrained mid-palate. Produced from coastal Tuscan vineyards where Syrah benefits from maritime influence and cooler nights, the wine balances structure and clarity. Just 3,800 bottles were made. It is fermented in cement with 30% whole-cluster fruit and aged in amphorae and barrique for 18 months."
