"Luminous deep red. Very sweet on entry, with very deep notes of spicy tobacco to the multilayered flavours of red cherry, blueberry, dark plum and sandalwood. Youthful but very noble tannins nicely frame the fruit and spice flavours. Showcases impeccable balance, and a very deep, very long, highly energetic and magically focused, spicy, finish. In 2022, this is really in its own league. Thirty-two months in oak instead of twenty-nine. I scored this 99: believe it or not, a month later, I’m still wondering today if I was too stingy in my initial assessment. Time will tell. Drinking window: 2032-2050."

Chalk, mint, white pepper, herbs, iron and dried flowers give this midweight, structured Barolo gorgeous aromatic presence and perfume. There's just a touch of oak that needs time to integrate. Impeccable."
