"The Fanti 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Vallocchio reveals a pronounced savory side with tobacco leaf, roasted chestnut husk, dark plum, honeycomb or honey-roasted almond. The tannins are resolved, almost silky at this point, and there is plenty of concentrated fruit to build up the rich textural impact. The alcohol content clocks in at 15%, but it is nicely folded into the wine's dark fruity fiber."

"Aromas of crushed berries and flowers with some bark and mushroom. It’s medium to full body with medium, round tannins and fresh acidity. Lovely balance and finesse. Drinkable now, but better in two to four years."

Eric Guido, Vinous: 93

"The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Vallocchio is savory and earthy in the glass, with a beguiling blend of ashen stones, underbrush and hints of animal musk that open the stage, giving way to mentholated black cherries. Velvety and nearly creamy in feel, this smooths over the palate with a rich blend of ripe red and black fruits, underscored by saline minerals. Grippy tannins mount toward the close. The 2019 finishes structured and impressively long, with a lifting air of pine shavings and a bitter tinge that lingers on and on. Lose this in the cellar."
